Area Commanders
Lieutenant Chris Haddad is a highly respected and dedicated law enforcement officer who has worked for the Brea Police Department for the past twenty years. He is a second-generation Brea police officer - his father worked for the Brea Police Department during the late 1980's up until the mid-2000's.
Driven by a desire to expand his skillset and contribute even more to the field of law enforcement, Lieutenant Haddad pursued advanced training and education. In addition to being a Brea Olinda High School graduate, Lieutenant Haddad holds a Bachelor's in science from Union University, and holds a Master's in science in Criminal Justice from California Coast University.
In his current role as a police lieutenant, Chris oversees the Traffic division within the department, in addition to Patrol. He works closely with his team to implement effective strategies to address crime and assists with community outreach. He is an advocate for innovate approaches to policing, emphasizing the value of collaboration, communication, and proactive engagement.

Lieutenant Tony Barbosa is an experienced, knowledgeable law enforcement officer who has been with the Brea Police Department for the past twenty-five years. He began his career in law enforcement in 1993, after he graduated from the Rio Honda Police Academy.
Tony is a highly educated individual, with advanced training and education. He holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from California Coast University, and is half-way complete with his Master's program.
As lieutenant, Tony applies his expertise to oversee multiple divisions within the Brea Police Department. Currently, he oversees the South Brea Area, the scheduling team, ACT (Arrest and Control Tactics) training, K9's, Volunteers in a police Services (VIPS), Jail Operations, the department's ALPR program, and investigative resources.

North Area Command
The North Area consists of the north and east areas of Brea. It is the largest patrol area geographically in the city. The east command encompasses nearly all area east of the 57 freeway and includes Carbon Canyon, the Blackstone development, Wildcatters Park, the Brea Sports Park, and the large retail corridor on Imperial Highway with stores that include Walmart, Nordstrom Rack, and Albertson’s Grocery.
South Area Command
The South Area Command is defined geographically by the 57 freeway to the east, Downtown Brea to the west, Imperial Highway to the south, and the Rails to Trails to the north. This area includes much of our central retail core including the Brea Mall and Downtown Brea.
The South Area includes both residential and business/retail centers. This command area includes all areas south of Imperial Highway and east to the 57 freeway. The area also includes areas west of Brea Boulevard (except Downtown Brea) and south of Lambert to the western city boundary. The boundaries include Brea Boulevard to the east, Imperial Highway to the south, and the city limits to the north and west.
