Wildlife Watch Program

Over the years, coyotes have become more visible and a concern in many neighborhoods. In response, the City has partnered with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife to have its own Wildlife Watch Program. The intent of the program is to reduce human-wildlife conflicts by training residents on how to proactively address, prevent and manage unwanted wildlife in their neighborhoods. The Wildlife Watch Program is currently active in many Southern California cities and has proven effective at reducing animal losses and making residents feel more comfortable and empowered to do things about coyotes in their own neighborhoods.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife launched the Wildlife Watch program in 2015 to identify and eliminate wildlife attractants in residential neighborhoods. The program is very similar to the well-known Neighborhood Watch programs.
